A giant molecule developed from repeated subunits (a polymer of acrylic acid) that magically converts a liquid into a pleasant gel formula.  It usually needs to be neutralized with a foundation (such as sodium hydroxide) with the thickening to take place and it creates viscous, clear gels that also really feel wonderful and non-tacky on the skin.
